The village of Chulilla was compact and could be explored in a day, so we headed towards a new destination. The previous evening, I had browsed Google Maps for interesting places and found the Fonts de l'Algar waterfalls, which were located a bit further south. The journey took us almost directly towards the coast, so we anticipated warmer weather and t-shirt conditions. Along the way, the scenery was magnificent, and we drove through several charming small villages. There would have been plenty of other natural attractions in the area, but due to our schedule, we had to choose only one. Near Fonts de l'Algar, the road narrowed, and we arrived at an area with many private parking lots. Some places were paid unless we patronized the restaurant that owned the parking area. As we exited the car, a pleasant surprise awaited us: for the first time on this trip, it was warm enough to be in shorts and a t-shirt! The sun shone warmly, and at times the weather even felt hot. We decided to first enjoy lunch at an idyllic restaurant before continuing to the waterfalls. ## Waterfalls and Swimming The Fonts de l'Algar waterfalls were impressive. The water was crystal clear, and the area was full of natural rock pools. At this time of year, we got to enjoy the place almost to ourselves, but in summer, this destination is surely packed. First, we plunged into a basin located downstream. The water was surprisingly cold, but the warm air made it refreshing. Lush vegetation shaded some of the falls, but the sun still warmed us comfortably. After swimming for a while, we continued upstream along the river, where a larger waterfall roared within a rock crevice. We decided to swim here too, as such beautiful places are often crowded with people. However, now we got to enjoy the pool beneath the waterfall all to ourselves. The Spaniards watched us in wonder as we swam in the cold water – for them, winter was clearly not swimming season! We continued our journey further upstream along the river, admiring the many waterfalls in the area and historical water channels that directed water to nearby towns. The area was well-maintained, and it was easy to swim and wade along the water. The river path eventually led through a dense forest until the trail ended. Along the way, we noticed a sign on the other side of the highway, resembling a motorhome waste disposal point. We turned at the next possible spot and found a service station with a service point intended for motorhomes. We were surprised at how well motorhome travel had been made easy here. As evening was approaching, we decided to find a place to stay overnight using the Park4Night app. We ended up in the El Campello area. First, we went to the beach to see a small parking lot, but it was already full. This was clearly a popular spot among motorhome travelers – we even saw another Finnish car! We continued higher up and found an area where residential buildings had clearly been planned, but for now, only the road had been built. We ended up at the edge of a large turnaround, which offered stunning views of the sea and the city. The place was quiet and peaceful – just the kind of place where we knew we would get a good night's sleep. Fonts de l'Algar offered wonderful nature experiences, and the day was full of adventure and beautiful scenery.
